RELIGIOUS BULLYING BY PUERTO RICAN POLICE

The Puerto Rican Police Force appears to be endemically corrupt. Apparently they are only interested in protecting and serving community members who share the particular religious beliefs of the senior officers and will actively discriminate, harass, bully and harm officers (and presumably other members of the public) who fail to share these beliefs.

Those who break the law or allow it to be broken should not be administering or enforcing it. There needs to be a large and very public shake-up of this crime-committing and crime-facilitating force. Administrative changes should be made that will support and uphold the country's constitutional separation of state and religion instead of willfully, ostentatiously and apologetically breaking these laws.

The Puerto Riccan public should be assured that every person under the jurisdiction of the law will be treated equally and fairly regardless of their race, gender, country of origin or religious status. The police force of the region should not only enforce this but should set a healthy example of this type of behavior.
